Friends

Rob and i have taken on the project of painting our house,( Stucko) yuck! it eats up alot of paint and time. The house is looking beautiful. We've had some good comments from the neighbors, their the ones who have to look at it. i'm so glad they all are liking the color. i love it . This old house feels new. We've started a FB site and have been smitten by it. it's so fun to find friends. i think we all like to be able to say we have a friend or 2. when i started, i had 7 friends. i wondered what would i do with that many. do i have time to send them all a cookie, flair,cupcakes, awards? well surprize! i'm going on 39 friends and i'm finding it so fun to check out their family pictures and read what they are doing. my cousins have 200 and 300 friends. i can't amagine sending all of them a flair:)) but how fun this FB has become. Are you on Fb? do you feel better because of the number of "friends" you have? Bottom line is, we all want to be loved. If we were to understand the debth of God's love we would probably feel more succure, but God does ask us to Love our neighbors as ourselves. So we need friends. We want friends and we love friends. My "Marvelous" Dad went to be with Mom and the arms of our precious Lord, Wed. June 25th after suffering heart failure. I was blessed that week by a visit from him for a hair cut. That morning we joked about how good he looked in his gown with such a good hair cut. He was happy and sweet to everyone that day, but his heart continued to give out and 12 hrs. later, 20 of us, as a family, gathered around him, sang his favorite hymns, gave kisses and goodbyes to this wonderful, Godly, loving, positive, Christian example. He left his fingerprints everywhere with what he did for so many --his handywork. He is missed and will live forever in our hearts and memories. We were blessed to know such a man. "Well done good and faithful servant." We LOVE DAD, Grandad and Great Grandad. He's humming and whistling in Heaven.

Twelfth Anniversary!

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in Santa Barbara for our 12th wedding anniversary! It was fantastic! We went to our favorite old-fashioned movie theater on State Street and watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We highly recommend it. The Bath Street in was the B&B that we stayed at. Wonderful! The owners were very hospitable and attentive. They bake every night...non-stop cookies and brownies and cakes. The breakfasts were also very good with egg dishes, fruit, and homemade granola.

Tennis in Palm Springs!

We had a fantastic time attending the last three days of the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, CA. We saw Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Ana Ivanovic, and many of the other top players. We baked in the 90+ degree heat, but had a fantastic time. For us old school guys, we even had a great time running across Rod Laver walking around the grounds.

Well, it's been a while since we posted. We are just sitting here watching American Idol. My wife just joined the Oprah website and is enjoying the message board commenting back and forth with the other participants about the Oprah show.

We have been big fans of America Idol since it started. We haven't always agreed on the winners. Actually, most of the time we agree with Simon Cowell. As fare as tonight, we feel the boys were stronger last night than the girls are tonight. There really have not been any blockbuster performances tonight, but it's not over yet and we are going to stay tuned.
